Last weekend there was a meeting of a big biker forum in our area. There were more than a 1000 visitors with almost the same amount of motorbikes. For me it was a great opportunity to make some photographs. So I called my friend Itamar and we spend there a few hours. Looking around which bike is nicer to photograph and avoiding passing by motorbikes. I made almost 200 pictures. Here are some "highlights" of that day.

Dan Forrest
Finally I went on another photo trip, After I came home early today I took my camera bag and went to a Forrest nearby. A friend of me told me about the beautiful flowers growing there in this season, but when I got there and took some shots of several flowers, A dragonfly set down close to me, I was really excited since I never photographed flying insects. Luckily she was very patient and let me take a lot of photographs of her. Here are some of the results of a wonderful trip.

A night out
Last week me and my friend Itamar went on a spontaneous trip to try our new camera's at night. We went to Jerusalem and made a whole lot of pictures, some came out nice som not at all. Making pictures in the dark is quite new for me and is not the same as during daylight. We kept on until around 5.00 in the morning and really enjoyed it.
Here are some pictures I took that same night and with that, these are the first pictures I publish here I took with my new camera.

A Dream Come True
It's been a while since my last post, but I've been very busy lately. I've opened my own web shop I've also been to Holland and I've made a dream come true. I've been dreaming of this for a long long time already. And I finally did it. I bought a new camera!!! I bought the CANON 40D. I've been looking for a good deal for a long time already and when I was in Holland I found the best deal I saw so far, so….. I was/am as happy as a little boy with his new toy he really wanted. This camera is very scary as well. It is so big and can do so much that I have to learn the whole thing. Because it's a professional SLR camera and not DSLR like I had before, I also have to change some concepts and techniques about photography, but that's part of the fun!! So far I'm learning fast while practicing and soon you'll see the results!

The sea
Today was the birthday of the children and we went a bit up north to celebrate it.
We went the coast, to a place called michmoret. There's a nice beach with a nice restaurant watching over the sea. Besides the good food, just being there next to the sea was very nice and relaxing. We didn't plan to go there, so unfortunately we didn't bring our bathing suited, maybe next time. So instead of jumping in the water, I made some pictures of the water!

Sorek stream
Last weekend me and my photography partner Itamar went to Sorek stream.
It's one of the streams which have streaming water, even in the summer, and it's a beautiful place. Once you get down and follow the stream you're surrounded by lots of green and the sound of streaming water breaking the silence. I really enjoyed being out in the nature and of course photographing. The following pictures are some of the high lights of our trip.
This first one, in my eyes the most beautiful one, is a caterpillar we found there and agreed to be a model for a few minutes.

At home
This time I stayed home and did some "home work". I just went outside on our balcony/garden and made some pictures.
The first one is a cactus flower which opens in the morning when the sun light falls on it and closes the moment the sun loses it's strength in the late afternoon. We have it for a couple of years already and this year for the first time it gives those beautiful red flowers.
This is also a dessert plant and a couple of weeks ago one of it's flowers, just like this one, broke off and…….
This is what came on the place where the flower broke, By the way, the broken flower I put in a pot and he is doing very well on his own.
And look who was again watching every move I made.

The dam (part 2)
As we moved on we came to the (as far as I know) only dam this size we have in Israel.
It's a beautiful site with lots of green and a great area to travel, as well by foot or bike or even horseback. The water wasn't so clean so we didn't go in. Here are some pictures of and from the dam.

PHOTO TRIP 1 (part 1)
Here I am again after a very nice weekend. On Saturday I went with Smadar's cousin on a trip to make some pictures. It was great. We took a 4weeldrive jeep and got to some beautiful places. After we came home, tired but very satisfied, we promised to do this very more often. Here are some pictures to start with, in the next few days I'll post some more. I hope you like it.

Yom etzma'ut
Today we celebrate Israel's 60 Independence Day. Witch is always a big happening and party here. It's a big headache for the security forces because there are big amounts of people in open places, so easy targets for terrorists. But let me focus on the more happy side. The official ceremonies start in Jerusalem on the evening of Independence Day (yesterday evening) also every town and village has it's own stage with concerts and celebrations. Who doesn't go to the celebrations most likely stays home for the BBQ . We went to family next door. They live on the 12th floor so we hade a great view over the area and every few minutes another town in the area lighted fireworks. This pic is from the fireworks in our town. Today we go for another BBQ in a nearby Forrest, I hope to make some more nice picture there aswell.
